Can I use a normal battery instead of a Lithium-Ion battery?

No. Vehicles originally equipped with a Lithium-Ion battery must continue using the same Lithium-Ion battery specification recommended by BMW. A normal SMF, EFB or AGM battery is not a suitable replacement and may cause battery management system faults, charging issues, warning messages and reduced vehicle performance.
